1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the Cal Coast Mahjong website or booking any lesson or event, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this website or book our services. Cal Coast Mahjong reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the website or services following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

2. About Cal Coast Mahjong

Cal Coast Mahjong is owned and operated by Sylvia Laabs in Ventura County, California. We provide American Mahjong instruction, private group lessons, and public events serving Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties.

3. Services

Cal Coast Mahjong offers private group mahjong lessons, public mahjong events, and related instruction services. All services are provided by or under the direction of Sylvia Laabs. Cal Coast Mahjong reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any service at any time with reasonable notice.

4. Booking & Payment

All lesson and event bookings require full payment at the time of booking. Your date and time are not confirmed or held until payment is received in full, with a minimum of 4 attendees for group lessons. All prices are listed per person unless otherwise stated. Cal Coast Mahjong reserves the right to update pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect bookings that have already been confirmed and paid.

All transactions are processed securely through Stripe. Cal Coast Mahjong does not store your payment card information.

5. Cancellation & Refund Policy

All payments made to Cal Coast Mahjong are non-refundable.

Rescheduling: If you need to reschedule your lesson, you must notify Cal Coast Mahjong more than 48 hours before your scheduled lesson date and time. Rescheduling is available one time per booking and is subject to instructor availability.

Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice: Cancellations made less than 48 hours before your scheduled lesson, or failure to appear on the day of your lesson, will result in full forfeiture of payment. No credit, reschedule, or refund will be issued under these circumstances.

How to notify us: All rescheduling requests must be submitted in writing to Info@CalCoastMahjong.com and are not considered received until confirmed by Cal Coast Mahjong.

6. Group Booking Terms

For private group lessons, the person making the initial booking (the organizer) is responsible for distributing the individual registration link to all participants in their group. Each participant is responsible for completing their own individual registration and payment.

The minimum group size for a private lesson is 4 participants. A lesson date is not fully confirmed until the minimum number of participants have registered and paid. If the minimum group size is not met, Cal Coast Mahjong reserves the right to reschedule the lesson to a mutually agreed upon date or issue a full refund.

The organizer is responsible for ensuring all participants are aware of and agree to these Terms & Conditions and the cancellation policy prior to registering.

7. Instructor Rights

Cal Coast Mahjong reserves the right to refuse service to any individual or group, cancel a booking, or remove a participant from a lesson or event at the instructor's discretion. This includes but is not limited to situations involving disruptive, disrespectful, or inappropriate behavior. In such cases, no refund will be issued.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the Cal Coast Mahjong website including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, lesson materials, and course content is the property of Cal Coast Mahjong and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. No content may be reproduced, distributed, or used in any form without prior written permission from Cal Coast Mahjong.

9. Liability Limitation

Participation in Cal Coast Mahjong lessons and events is voluntary and at the participant's own risk. Cal Coast Mahjong and its instructor are not liable for any personal loss, theft, injury, or damage of any kind occurring before, during, or after any lesson or event. By booking a lesson or registering for an event, participants agree to release Cal Coast Mahjong and its instructor from any and all claims arising from their participation.

10. Photo & Media Release

By attending a Cal Coast Mahjong lesson or event, you consent to being photographed or filmed by Cal Coast Mahjong for use on our website, social media channels, and marketing materials. If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please notify the instructor in writing prior to your lesson or event at Info@CalCoastMahjong.com. Cal Coast Mahjong will make every reasonable effort to accommodate your request.

11. Third Party Links & Services

The Cal Coast Mahjong website may contain links to third party websites or utilize third party services including Wix, Stripe, and MailerLite. These third parties have their own terms and privacy policies which govern their services. Cal Coast Mahjong is not responsible for the content, practices, or policies of any third party website or service.

12. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Cal Coast Mahjong services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ventura County, California.
