Service Description
In this fun, relaxed 2.5-hour intro lesson, you and your friends will get hands-on with the tiles, learn how to read the National Mah Jongg League game card, and play your first real (abbreviated!) game together. No experience needed, and no need to bring a thing. I bring everything to play - you bring the curiosity. By the end of the lesson, you'll understand the basics and have a feel for the game. If my prior students are any indication, you'll already be planning your next game night. Most groups find that one lesson leaves them hungry for more. That's why I recommend pairing this class with my Intro to Mahjong Game Play lesson, where we take everything you've learned and put it into full, real-game practice. Together, the two lessons give you and your group the confidence to play on your own, and enjoy every minute of it. Lesson price is per person. Minimum of 2 people, no max. Assistant instructors will be brought in for larger groups. Booking & Payment Policy For private group lessons, your date is not confirmed until the minimum of 2 participants have registered and paid individually. All payments are non-refundable. Need to reschedule? No problem — just give me at least 48 hours notice and I'll do my best to find a new date that works for your group. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice are not eligible for rescheduling or credit. Those tiles wait for no one! Cancellation Policy
BOOKING CONFIRMATION: Your lesson date and time are reserved exclusively for you and your group upon receipt of full payment for four attendees. Until payment is received, your preferred date remains available to other groups. You'll receive a booking confirmation email with all the details once your reservation is secured. PAYMENT: Full payment is required at the time of booking. Cal Coast Mahjong accepts all major credit and debit cards processed securely through our online booking system. Prices are listed per person and are confirmed at the time of booking. GROUP BOOKINGS: For private group lessons, the organizer is responsible for sharing the individual registration link with all participants. Each participant is responsible for their own registration and payment. The lesson date is not confirmed until the minimum group size of 4 participants has registered and paid. RESCHEDULING: Life happens — and mahjong is always better when everyone can be fully present. If you need to reschedule, simply reach out at least 48 hours before your lesson and I'll do my best to find a new date that works for your group. Rescheduling is available one time per booking. CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: All payments are non-refundable. Cancellations made at least 48 hours before your scheduled lesson are eligible for a one-time reschedule. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before your lesson — or no-shows on the day — are not eligible for rescheduling or credit. Those tiles wait for no one! WEATHER & UNEXPECTED CANCELLATIONS: In the rare event that Cal Coast Mahjong needs to cancel or reschedule a lesson due to unforeseen circumstances, you will receive as much notice as possible and be offered a full reschedule or complete refund.
