The Complete Mahjong Beginner Experience. The best way to learn American Mahjong isn't one lesson — it's two. This two-lesson bootcamp is designed to take you and your group from complete beginner to confident, independent player in the most fun way possible. The first 2.5 hours is your Intro to Mahjong. This gets you familiar with the tiles, the National Mah Jongg League playing card, and the foundational rules through an abbreviated practice game. Then take an hour break for lunch. The second 2.5 hours is your Intro to Mahjong Game Play. This takes everything you've learned and puts it into real-game play, complete with the Charleston, tile calling, and that glorious first Mahjong moment. Together, this 5-hour lesson (plus 1-hour break) gives your group the complete picture. Not just the rules, but the rhythm, the strategy, and the confidence to sit down at any table and play. I bring everything you need for Bootcamp — tiles, cards, and plenty of enthusiasm. All you need to bring is your group and your competitive spirit. Book the bundle and give your group the full experience from the very first tile. If you want to book the 2 lessons on different days - reach out to us and we'll help you book the 2 lessons at the discounted Bootcamp rate. Cost is per-person and covers both lessons in the bundle. Booking & Payment Policy For private group lessons, your date is not confirmed until the minimum of 2 participants have registered and paid individually. All payments are non-refundable. Need to reschedule? No problem — just give me at least 48 hours notice and I'll do my best to find a new date that works for your group. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice are not eligible for rescheduling or credit. Those tiles wait for no one! Cancellation Policy
BOOKING CONFIRMATION: Your lesson date and time are reserved exclusively for you and your group upon receipt of full payment for two attendees. Until payment is received, your preferred date remains available to other groups. PAYMENT: Full payment is required at the time of booking. Cal Coast Mahjong accepts all major credit and debit cards processed securely through our online booking system. Prices are listed per person and are confirmed at the time of booking. GROUP BOOKINGS: For private group lessons, the organizer is responsible for sharing the individual registration link with all participants. Each participant is responsible for their own registration and payment. The lesson date is not confirmed until a minimum group size of 2 participants has registered and paid. RESCHEDULING: Life happens — and mahjong is always better when everyone can be fully present. If you need to reschedule, simply reach out at least 48 hours before your lesson and I'll do my best to find a new date that works for your group. Rescheduling is available one time per booking. CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: All payments are non-refundable. Cancellations made at least 48 hours before your scheduled lesson are eligible for a one-time reschedule. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before your lesson — or no-shows on the day — are not eligible for rescheduling or credit. Those tiles wait for no one! WEATHER & UNEXPECTED CANCELLATIONS: In the rare event that Cal Coast Mahjong needs to cancel or reschedule a lesson due to unforeseen circumstances, you will receive as much notice as possible and be offered a full reschedule or complete refund.
