Service Description
Kids are fast learners! The Mini Mahjer method uses the "scaffolding approach" - teaching them the tiles and how to read the Mahjong playing card. We start off with a smaller winning hand, and using Jokers in singles and pairs (shhh - they'll eventually learn that's a no-no by National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) rules). This allows them to conceptually learn the game and flow, and then "graduate" to the NMJL card and that pesky "no Jokers with Singles and Pairs" rule. Learning Mahjong teaches them pattern recognition, strategy, memorizing and most importantly - socializing with friends in a screen-free environment! Great for kids age 8-12 Cost is per person. Minimum of 3 students.
Cancellation Policy
GROUP BOOKINGS: For private group lessons, the host will pay to reserve the booking. You will then be provided a payment link to share with the rest of your group so they can individually register for the class. Each participant is responsible for their own registration and payment. The lesson date is not confirmed until a minimum group size of 3 participants has registered and paid. RESCHEDULING: Life happens — and mahjong is always better when everyone can be fully present. If you need to reschedule, simply reach out at least 48 hours before your lesson and I'll do my best to find a new date that works for your group. Rescheduling is available one time per booking. CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: All payments are non-refundable. Cancellations made at least 48 hours before your scheduled lesson are eligible for a one-time reschedule. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before your lesson — or no-shows on the day — are not eligible for rescheduling or credit. Those tiles wait for no one!
